Both the Audi RS Q8 and Aston Martin DBX are fitted with 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8s and four-wheel drive, and aim to package sports car dynamics into off-roaders that weigh over two tonnes. The RS Q8 is a chunk cheaper than the DBX, and with an extra 49bhp, should set a tough benchmark for the Aston. But how do they fare when pushed to the limit on a track, and which is fastest? We took each to the Bedford Autodrome, and put Steve Sutcliffe behind the wheel, to decide which of these super SUVs is best.
