Here are 10 fascinating facts about Shake Shack.

Shake Shack’s rise to global fame has been a relatively quick one, as the first restaurant was established only about a decade ago. In that short time, the burger chain has won the adoration of many.
Here are 10 fascinating facts about fast food sensation.
Number 10. They have a line-check camera. To find out how many people are queued up at the Madison Square Park location, all one needs to do is log on and check the Shack Cam. Well, normally, anyway.  The restaurant is currently closed due to remodel, but a work cam shows the goings on.
Number 9. There’s a secret menu. In addition to the offerings listed, customers can choose from a bevy of delicious, yet unadvertised, items. Among them is a Peanut Butter Bacon Burger. If you want to look like a legit insider, don’t appear shocked if the peanut butter is served on the side. Sometimes, that’s just how it is.
Number 8. Table tennis pros can win big. Every month the Coral Gables location holds a multi-round tournament. The winner walks away with a 75-dollar gift card and a shiny trophy.
Number 7. Prices vary. The same meals can cost a variety of amounts depending upon where in the world it’s ordered. The airport location in Dubai is among the most expensive, while the one in Moscow is the least.
Number 6. Don’t bother looking for the drive-thru. The chain doesn’t have any. Odds are they won’t be popping up in the future, either. When asked about the possibility, the company’s CEO once responded, “we will never do a drive-through.”
Number 5. It’s not just for humans. The menu also has a dog-specific section. The items in it are a bag of expertly baked treats and a special dish called a Pooch-ini. Ingredients for the latter include a pup-friendly custard, some ground up crunchy biscuits, and a swirl of peanut butter.
Number 4. Naming it Shake Shack was a decision that came later. Among the earlier suggestions was Custard’s First Stand. It so happens that there’s already an ice cream shop operating under that name.
Number 3. Much of the furniture is made of reclaimed wood. Many of the boards that make up the restaurant’s tables and counters were once part of a bowling lane somewhere.
Number 2. PETA owns a good chunk of the company’s shares. Their holdings are significant enough to allow the animal rights group to participate in important meetings. Their long-term plan is to convince Shake Shack to offer vegan dishes.
Number 1. It’s not the founder’s only gig. Danny Meyer, the man behind the burger stand, is also involved with the openings and operations of many other New York City dining hotspots. Among them are Gramercy Tavern and the Union Square Café.
