Nothing screams awesome more than cruising around in an incredibly attractive and fast vehicle. With that in mind, check out 10 of the greatest sports cars according to Kelley Blue Book and CNBC.

Number 10 - The Ferrari 250 GTO. Production on these bad boys was limited to three years in the early 1960s. Exactly 39 units came off the line, meaning the hand built autos are exceptionally rare. If you're lucky enough to find one today, be prepared to shell out some cash. Last year, a 1963 GTO fetched $52 million.

Number 9 -- The Dodge Viper. Although production creased in 2010, Vipers made their first appearance in 1992. Equipped with 400 horsepower V10 engines, the mean looking vehicles are 'reminiscent of the 1960s racing legends' according to Kelley Blue Book's senior director Karl Brauer.

Number 8 - The Shelby Cobra. Thanks to the dreams of Texas chicken farmer, Carroll Shelby, this iconic vehicle reflects a British appearance but with an American V8 engine under the hood.

Number 7 -- The Mercedes-Benz SL dates back to 1954. Described as the first production car that offered fuel injection and a top speed of over 160miles per hour, the vehicles are still being produced today.

Number 6 -- What would any car compilation be without a Corvette? For over 6 decades, Chevrolet Corvettes have been dominating racetracks and roadways. Said Brauer 'the Corvette has often been described as an exotic car slayer, because it effectively competes with sports cars costing two to five times as much.'

Number 5 -- The itty bitty Mazda MX-5 Miata. Proving that big things come in small packages, it was first produced in 1989 and earns serious praise from Guinness World Records who declared 'the best-selling two-seat convertible sports car in history'.

Number 4 -- The Jaguar E-Type. With an extended front end and a shortened rear side, the styling is clean and nostalgic. Its styling reportedly led to Enzo Ferrari calling the model the 'most beautiful car ever made', and apparently spurred him to create the 250 GTO.

Number 3 -- Thought to be the first sports car ever made, the Lamborghini Miura was produced from 1966 to 1972. The trendsetting model was introduced with a V12 engine located between the passenger compartment and rear axle and boasted an ability to travel 170 miles per hour. That was unheard of at the time.

Number 2 -- The Acura NSX. The sports car highlighted Japan as an exotic vehicle manufacturer. Up until 1990, exotic autos were associated with being solely European creations.

Number 1 -- The Porsche 911. The model has remained an auto buff favorite for more than 50 years. Over the course of 5 decades, the only difference between today's models and those of the past are very minor design changes. Brauer stated 'its performance continues to set the bar by which all other sports cars are measured'.

Which one do you think is the greatest sports car?
