I have never tested a lens - let alone a fast aperture prime lens - that is free from vignetting when shot wide open. Even the very best show some - and stopping down half or a full stop clears it up. But the Plena really seems closer to perfect than I have seen before, and the overall contrast, color and sharpness are all world class. This 'Peripheral Illumination' technology is certainly working!

Despite 'ONLY' costing $2500, I think this sits way above the rest of the Z range - and almost every other modern portrait lens from any brand, at any price - in terms of optical performance. It's stunning....
