Based on the PSA-developed EMP2 platform, the new 308 is 4.25 meters long and 1.46 meters tall, making it slightly shorter and lower compared to its predecessor. It comes with a significantly sharper front-end design which was possible thanks to lower engine mounting positions, while on the inside there's more room available than before and 470 liters of cargo.

Peugeot says the new 308 is up to 140 kg (308 lbs) lighter than the outgoing model, and the most economical versions have CO2 emissions of only 85 g/km.
