Edmunds Vehicle Test Editor Kurt Niebuhr had a chance to sample the subtle but significantly refreshed 2019 Porsche Macan. He gives us a closer look at some of the changes as well as on-road insight into Porsche's very own hot hatch. Is it still the performance benchmark for the class?

Q: How much does it cost?
A: At this time, Porsche has not released official pricing figures, but we figure it will be only slightly more expensive than the outgoing model, which starts at $48,850, including destination.

Q: Are the engines any different for 2019?
A: The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine carries over for the base Macan but the Macan S sees its current twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 replaced with the single-turbo V6 from the Cayenne and the Panamera. This new engine makes 354 horsepower, up 14 hp from last year. There's no word yet on the Turbo and GTS models.

Q: Is the inside any different?
A: Absolutely. There's a new 10.9-inch touchscreen display and that's forced a redesign of the entire dashboard. We like the way it looks but watch the video and let us know what you think!
