18 years earlier, the Kia Sorento made its debut as a typical off-road vehicle. This year, however, saw the sensational transformation it had undergone.
The immediate impression is of its modern and stylistic exterior design. The vehicle's body is a combination of bold and sharp lines giving a sense of sportiness and a greater degree of refinement and elegance.
The Sorento's front stands out from the crowd with Kia’s hallmark ‘tiger nose’ grille, displaying a wider shape and naturally wrapping around the integrated headlamps on each side.

A sharp front bumper lip capped with a larger skid plate helps enhance its dynamic appearance.
Thanks to the new model's shorter front and rear overhangs, the length of the wheelbase has grown by 35 mm while drawing the A-pillar 30 mm further back, creating a reliably solid air.

Besides, a new dynamic shape on its C-pillar and sculpted body surfaces with sharp creases stir the feeling of luxury and assertive appearance.

The rear end features a vertical LED tail lamps split in half which wrap around the side of the body and a bigger spoiler with a sharp "Sorento" being engraved.
With its large exhaust, aggressive diffusion system combining with bold cutting lines, the Sorento is no different from a high-performance SUV.
In addition to its impressive appearance, the Sorento prides itself in a modern and high-class interior space.

Sorento 2021 incorporates two dual screens including the 12.3-inch widescreen control screen and the 10.25-inch central touch screen like other Mercedes flagship cars.

The control cluster of air conditioning system is positioned between 2 central air vents.
Beneath the dashboard is the presence of a number-turning button.

Kia is exceptionally skillful at combing high-quality materials such as leather, metal and other sophisticated details in a harmonious way, bringing the Sorento 2021 interior design to the next level.
Furthermore, the interior space of the Sorento 2021 is much more spacious than its rivals thanks to the new architecture. Therefore, this Korean SUV offers more legroom and the largest cargo capacity of 821L. Kia Sorento 2021 will offer two options including a six-seat and a seven-seat version.

About the operation
Depending on the market, Sorento will provide different engine options. In Australia and Europe, the car is equipped with a 2.2l diesel engine, with a maximum power of 198hp and a maximum torque of 440Nm and an eight-speed wet double-clutch transmission.
The most striking upgrade of the Sorento 2021 powertrains is the availability of the Smartstream powertrain which is a combination of a 1.6-litre T-GDi (turbocharged gasoline direct injection) and a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack and 44.2 kW electric motor. This powertrain generates a capacity of 227hp and a maximum torque of 350Nm.

In North America market, other than the Smartstream powertrain, there will be another 2.5l version producing a maximum capacity of 277hp and maximum torque of 421Nm with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
