Lexus refreshed the RX 350 SUV for 2020, which is why you are going to see no changes for 2022. As much as people love the iconic look of the SUV and do not seem to be tired of it to want an upgrade, they would rather love to see Lexus tweak the interior and get rid of the basic infotainment touchpad controller for good. There are rumors all around that Lexus is going to bring an all-new upgraded RX 350 for 2023. Until then, Lexus has to compete with upgraded rivals like BMW X5, Audi Q5, and Volvo XC60.
The Lexus RX 350 comes in two trims- Base and F Sport. Both trim levels are powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that propels 285 horsepower and 267 lb-ft. of torque. The engines come paired with 8-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on both trims, and all-wheel drive is optional on both.
The starting price for the 2022 Lexus RX 350 should be somewhere around $50,000. The base trim of RX 350 is accompanied by the RX350L which is a longer wheelbase version of the SUV. The last trim to wear the nameplate is the RX350 F Sport.
The engine which comes under the hood of the car when buyers get the RX350 is a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6. The RX is a hefty vehicle and the V6 struggles to be even a little bit sporty in its classification. Power and torque figures are at 295 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque, respectively. Considering the competition has moved on to turbocharged motors, the slow sprint times should not come as a surprise. What’s surprising is the AWD versions are even heavier and take more time to complete the sprint. That being said, as standard, you get the SUV in a front-wheel drivetrain driven by an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Lexus has made some very good decisions with the RX 350 interior, not just the way they designed it but also the materials they chose to use. The touch surfaces are strewn with some fine textures metallic or wood trims, soft leather, and soft-touch plastics. Even the door panels are padded with soft-touch surfaces. Even as standard the upholstery you get is NuLuxe leatherette, and semi-aniline leather. In comparison to the higher trims, even the base trims feel a little basic. Speaking of the other trims, the F Sport variant gets Circuit Red NuLuxe, however choosing Black still remains as an option.
Lexus offers two packages along with the base model named Premium package and Luxury package. The Premium package is available at an extra cost of $480 and adds features such as Matte Bamboo interior trim, Power-adjustable front seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror, power rear door, Lexus memory system, and Rain-sensing windshield wipers.
The starting price for the 2022 Lexus RX 350 should be somewhere around $50,000. The base trim of RX 350 is accompanied by the RX350L which is a longer wheelbase version of the SUV. The last trim to wear the nameplate is the RX350 F Sport.
