The previous-generation Honda Civic Type R was one of our favorite cars. It was the first to be sold in the U.S. and was a hoot. It had a slick manual gearbox, just enough power and agile handling and a price tag in the high $30,000s. Honda is being frustratingly tight-lipped about the 2023 Honda Civic Type R’s performance specs. But it should be a marginally faster, more capable version of the old car with a slightly more grown-up look. And that’s OK with us.
