Avatr 11: A 570-HP Electric SUV from China with Huawei Software and Motors
China's electric vehicle market continues to expand with the arrival of Avatr, a new player in the industry. Created through a collaboration between Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei, Avatr aims to make a splash with its first production model, the Avatr 11.
Wheelsboy had the opportunity to test drive the Avatr 11, and they were generous enough to share a photo gallery, which you can find embedded below. Additionally, you can watch the 12-minute video review on Wheelsboy's YouTube channel, providing an in-depth look at this remarkable electric SUV.
Let's start with the price. In China, the Avatr 11 ranges from $47,000 to $63,000, positioning it slightly above the local price of the Tesla Model Y. Notably, the Avatr 11 boasts a longer body, measuring 192.1 inches, and a wider frame at 77.6 inches, offering enhanced space and presence compared to the Model Y.
Performance-wise, the Avatr 11 delivers on its price tag. The dual-motor variant, equipped with electric motors sourced from Huawei, boasts an impressive output of 578 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. This power allows the Avatr 11 to sprint from 0 to 62 miles per hour in under 4.0 seconds. The vehicle's battery, supplied by CATL, offers a 116-kilowatt-hour capacity, providing an estimated range of up to 420 miles based on China's CLTC testing cycle.
Despite its price range, the Avatr 11 does not offer standard air suspension. Surprisingly, this absence doesn't negatively impact the SUV's ride quality or handling, as confirmed by Wheelsboy's review.
If you're curious about how the Avatr 11 performs on the road, its Huawei technology, or its overall speed, be sure to watch the video review provided at the top of this page.
