2025 Mercedes AMG E53 https://youtu.be/YBPtLzMSBU4
After briefly going MIA, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG E53 high-performance sedan returns packing a potent plug-in hybrid powertrain. Internal combustion is handled by a version of the maker’s ubiquitous turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six cylinder while the hybrid power boost is provided by a 161-horsepower electric motor fed by a 21.1-kW battery. Combined, the powertrain is good for 577 horsepower, or 603 when the available Race Start mode is activated. Though power is up by 148 hp for 2025 (174 hp with Race Start) over the former E53, the interior and exterior styling remains rooted in the timeless E-Class aesthetic. AMG adds its customary touches, including a unique grille, front and rear illumination elements, unique wheel designs, and some AMG callouts both inside and outside. Charging is handled by either the 11-kW onboard charger or a 60-kW DC fast charging capability claimed to replenish the battery from 20-80 percent in 20 minutes. Maximum EV range is expected to be in the neighborhood of 40 miles. Mercedes-AMG says that it has also retuned the adaptive dampers and engine mounts to better balance comfort and performance. Currently, the four-door E53 sedan is flying solo into 2025, as the E53 Coupe and E53 Convertible are not scheduled to return to the fold; filling that two-door void is the new Mercedes-AMG CLE53 coupe and, potentially, a convertible
