We do love pickups here, and it’s time for two on either end of the scale to battle it out!
In this drag race, we got the Shelby F-150 Super Snake to go up against a Monster Pro Lite – a lightweight racing truck!
Let’s take a look at the stats for both – first off, the Shelby F-150 Super Snake. Based on a Ford F-150, it has a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 that develops 770hp and 868Nm of torque. That power is sent to all four wheels by a 10-speed automatic transmission, but it does weigh a hefty 2,198kg. This model is from 2021 and costs £105,000.
At the other end of the scale, the Monster Pro Lite trophy truck weighs just 1,400kg – less than a Porsche 911 – and costs around £30,000. It packs quite a punch though, with the small block V8 from Ford putting out 450hp and is paired to a 3-speed semi-automatic transmission sending the power to the rear wheels.
While the Super Snake has all the power figures in its favour, the Monster Pro Lite is stripped-out and could spring a surprise on the monstrous F-150. But you’ll have to watch to find out who wins… LET’S RACE!!
