Threads is a text-based conversation app built by the Instagram team at Meta. The engineering team was able to build and ship the app in only 5 months, which exceeded their expectations for building such a high quality app of this complexity and scale. Much of this speed is due to the ease and simplicity of Jetpack Compose: over 90% of their UI was built using Jetpack Compose.
