In today's Daily Fix:
Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 4 addressed a lot of the game's issues, but introduced a few more, namely heavy lag in Act 3. Where's all this lag coming from? According to developer Larian Studios, the game is thinking about all the bad things you've done. It's a bug in Act 2, where unnoticed thefts and acts of vandalism get stuck forever in the game. It's basically keeping a record of all those crimes in the game's memory, bogging down performance later in the story. Larian is aware and a fix will be coming. In other news, TikTok developer ByteDance is exiting the gaming development space and winding down any work its Nuverse brand is working on. The biggest thing they've released? A little mobile game called Marvel Snap. Don't worry, gamers, your Marvel Snap decks won't be affected by this. And in related Marvel news, Venom voice actor Tony Todd said Insomniac used very little of what he recorded for Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Did all those voice lines get tossed in the trash, or is Insomniac holding on to them for possible DLC?
