Hi, I’m Chris Winter and in this video, I’ll be going over the best bank accounts for 2023, whether it’s a savings or checking account, or a mix of both.

Starting off with the NBKC Everything Account, this unique bank account combines the benefits of a savings and checking account like never before.


This account offers a 0.15% APY (annual percentage yield) with no minimum balance required.


You can use the Everything Account to pay bills, spend money, and save funds as well!


Though the 0.15% APY is pretty low, at least you do get the benefits of a savings account and it’s FDIC insured.


The NBKC Everything Account is fee-friendly with no minimum balance, no maintenance fees, no foreign transaction fees, and no overdraft fees.


Given the fact that this is effectively a checking and savings account all in one, NBKC offers a few useful features to assist you better manage your finances.


These include the ability to link other accounts to your Everything Account so you can get a full picture of your finances.


You can see exactly all your bills, savings tracker, spending habits, and many more all in one place.

The online application for the Everything Account can be completed within five minutes, but take note that you have to be at least 18 years old and a US Citizen.


You will also be needing a Social Security Number as well as a government-issued identification card to complete your application process.


Although there are no maintenance fees, all transactions made within 30 days of opening your account will be held for 5 to 9 business days.


Just note that there’s a waiting time that can take up to 90 days before you can send in international transfers.

The next bank account on this list is the TIAA Yield Pledge Checking Account.


It’s a checking account that pays interest and guarantees that its rate will always be in the top 5% of other similar checking accounts, so they remain very competitive.


Owners of Yield Pledge Checking accounts receive 0.10% APY on all balances.


The checking account features a lucrative 0 monthly maintenance fees and 0 ATM fees.


To add to this, unlimited reimbursements for ATM fees incurred by other banks are offered to customers with balances of $5,000 or more.


For accounts under $5,000, TIAA will pay up to $15 in monthly ATM costs.


There is also a savings and money market account available for the Yield Pledge customers.

As for the money market, the account earns 1.20% APY for all account balances.

That's a pretty competitive APY rate compared to a traditional savings account, so if I were you, I’d hop on the TIAA board ASAP.

Just take note of the $100 opening deposit needed to start a Yield Pledge Checking account.

One of the more unusual checking accounts of the banking world is the Discover Bank Cashback Debit Checking account.


It’s unusual but in a good way!


The reason behind this assumption lies in the bank’s cash back rewards where the customer can earn 1% cashback on up to $3,000 in purchases!


Say you max your $3,000 monthly limit every time, you get around $360 a year just for using debit for this account.
