Best Camera For Travel 2017
In this video, I’m going to go through some of the Best Cameras For Backpacking so you can decide which one you will be best for you.
So today’s question asks Hey Chris, I’m going backpacking in Vietnam and Thailand next month and want to get a camera to take some good photos, what do you recommend.
Well first off nice work going backpacking. I went to Vietnam a few years ago and it’s a beautiful country especially around Ha Long Bay.
So there are lots of different cameras that can work great when you’re backpacking from smaller action cameras to larger DSLR’s.
Now the fact that you’re going to both Vietnam and Thailand, I’m guessing that you’re going to be going for a few weeks, so keeping your gear light will be important.
When I went to Vietnam I actually took my Canon 70D and 70-200mm f2.8 L lens and it look some great shots. But at the same time, it was an absolute beast and was really heavy to carry around all of the time so i wouldn’t recommend it.
If you do really want to take a DSLR, I’d take a look at a couple of the lighter DSLR’s from Nikon and Canon.
Canon have their T6 DSLR which is pretty small but still can take great photos and the Nikon D3400 also comes in at a pretty light weight.
If you really want to go light though I’d take a look at the Canon SL1, which is one of the smallest DSLR’s around at the moment.
By the way let me know in the comments section below, which camera do you think is the best for backpacking and why? and I’ll take a look at your comment.
But as much as I love DSLR’s, I’d recommend a smaller camera like this one right here, the Panasonic GM1. This is a micro four thirds camera and takes great photos.
I’ve taken this one all around the world and I really love it. It’s small enough to easily fit in your jacket pocket or even your shorts.
Another option might be something like this camera here, the Canon G7x. A lot of travel bloggers actually use this camera because it’s small, has a flip up screen and it takes great shots.
I've dropped mine a few times and it’s held up ok as well so it’s pretty durable for a small camera.
For a really durable camera for backpacking though, I’d highly recommend you getting a GoPro. This one here is the GoPro Hero 5 Black and it’s fantastic.
Especially if you’re going to be travelling to beautiful countries where there are nice beaches, a go pro will be perfect to get those underwater shots.
This one here is great as well as you don’t need to have an outer case any more if you're going to snorkelling or swimming.
They’re pretty tough as well so again this should be great if you just want to throw it in your rucksack and go.
So they some of the best cameras for backpacking.
