Food safety & more: Food processing equipment maker Bühler is using IoT, ML and AI to cut energy consumption and food waste — all while making foods safer to eat.
Switzerland-based Bühler has launched LumoVision, a digital sorting machine connected to Bühler’s Insights that pairs Microsoft cloud technology, including IoT and AI, with ultraviolet light to identify harmful toxins in harvested grains and cut food waste.
In his Microsoft Ignite keynote, Satya Nadella shared part two of the Bühler story, highlighting how Bühler is integrating blockchain technology into its platform to help grain, flour, rice and corn millers track crops and grains from the field to food processing mills and, ultimately, to grocery stores.
