Well, I suppose it was only a matter of time before your dog had its own activity tracker. We had a good run, humanity.

In all seriousness, Tagg, a pet tracker that attaches to your dogs collar, could actually be a life-saver. Tagg serves a number of very useful functions for pet owners. First of all, you can set up a geo-fenced area for your dog, and receive an alert on your smartphone the moment they leave the area. This can be changed at any time or reconfigured if, say, you need to have your friend pet-sit while you’re out of town, or you’re taking your dog for a walk.

Next, Tagg gives you GPS tracking on your smartphone, so if your dog does happen to escape you can forgo the neighborhood pet posters and simply head straight to their location.

And finally, Tagg has an ambient temperature sensor that can let you know if your dog is at risk because it’s too hot (or too cold) wherever they happen to be. Pet deaths due to dogs left in hot cars during the summer were one of the main problems the creators initially set out to help solve, so this was a big one for the Tagg team.

If you want to be one of the first to own a new Tagg GPS plus model, head on over to their site, where you can pre-order it at a $20 discount for $99.
