We've come a long way since the first Galaxy Note. No longer just a surprisingly-successful side project, the Note family now represents the very best that Samsung's Android lineup has to offer. In our full review back in October, we called the device "the most capable, most powerful phablet on the market," and the Note 3 went on to sell over 10 million units in only two months. And it was the Note 3, following in the footsteps of its venerable predecessor, that delivered some of the most robust support to the Pocketnow team during the crucible of the 2014 International CES

But it's a whole new world out there, one with a seemingly endless supply of phablet rivals. Whether the Note 3 can withstand that competitive pressure as 2014 marches on is a question only answerable via another close look at its hardware, its software - and even its curious little smart watch sidekick. Only then will we be able to say how well the world's best-known phablet has managed to bear up in the four months since its announcement.
