Generation17 Introduces Young Leader Oğuz Ergen | Samsung

A lifelong love of the sea inspired Generation17 Young Leader Oğuz Ergen to rally his generation around solutions for rising ocean temperatures and other impacts of climate change. Social Climate Association, his nonprofit organization based in Türkiye, supports research, awareness, and action surrounding social and environmental issues. They’ve trained 5,000 young people on biodiversity, ecological literacy, and other related topics.

Generation17 is a partnership between Samsung and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) that empowers young people around the world who are contributing to the Global Goals. Established by the United Nations in 2015, the 17 Global Goals—or Sustainable Development Goals—provide a framework to address pressing global challenges, including poverty, inequality, and climate change, while building a better future for all by 2030.
