The centerpiece of Google’s CES 2019 reveals is ambitious: bringing language translation to Google Assistant with the new Interpreter mode. We got a chance to try out the new mode, which will first be available on smart displays and come to other devices (including smartphones) in the future. Based on our first impressions, it worked well, though it did have some issues maintaining a natural conversational rhythm.
