Hello everyone! Welcome to our channel. In today’s video we’re going to talk about bizarre yet astonishing weather effects that only a few people had a chance to see in real life. From volcanic lightning to green flashes and other wonderful things that nature can create, get comfortable to see them all.
And the most hellish is a volcanic lightning.
When ominous lightning flashes above erupting volcanoes light up the sky, it all looks like a living nightmare. Unraveling the origin of volcanic lightning has been difficult for scientists. Ash clouds are less predictable and harder to study than thunderstorms, so scientists are still trying to figure out what sets off volcanic lightning. So what causes such lava inferno? The main cause is static electricity, from particles rubbing together in dense ash clouds near the ground. A large amount of ash, dust, rock, volatile gases, and lava all are expelled in a very short period of time. Volcanic lightning was recorded in different areas, including Iceland’s Eyjafjallajökull, Japan’s Sakurajima, Italy's Mt. Etna, and Chile’s Puyehue, Calbuco and Chaiten volcanoes.
