How Microsoft Is Helping to Solve the Rural Broadband Divide With Airband

Every day the world is becoming more digital, but according to the FCC, roughly 25 million Americans still do not have access to broadband. More than 19 million of those live in rural communities. That limits people’s opportunity to farm, run a business, learn, and seek healthcare.

In the summer of 2017 Microsoft called for a national effort and set out to eliminate the country’s rural broadband gap by July 4, 2022. Microsoft President Brad Smith shares an update and expansion of the #Airband Initiative, explains TV white space technology, and discusses solutions for the future. Read the full update here:
