Being part of the Apple ecosystem has its benefits, so long as you’re willing to invest in them. One of the products that takes the most advantage of this is actually the most underrated as well, the Apple TV and its marriage with AirPlay. Years ago, AirPlay was originally known as AirTunes, mainly because you could stream your music to any stereo system if you connected it to an Airport Express, all through a Wi-Fi connection that provides better reception over long distances than Bluetooth. The concept evolved into AirPlay once the Apple TV could take this streaming features a step further and support both video, and device mirroring.
Oddly, since many people don't actually know all the benefits of owning an Apple TV, we've decided to spend a couple of videos showing you what you can do with it. Today we start the series with the device's roots, by showing you how AirPlay allows you to stream your music. There's more to come in the next couple of weeks as well.
