Humans and AI: Meet Juan Lavista | Episode 6

Humans and AI tells stories of passionate people from all walks of life, who are using AI to transform our society and our world for the better.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, Juan has focused his work on stopping the spread of the virus. Last year, Juan joined a coalition of scientists to understand the pandemic’s trajectory and went on to help develop Progress to Zero which helps provide transparency into COVID-19 trends in different locations. The project uses AI-enabled modeling and analysis to give experts and officials the information to better understand how the pandemic evolving. Juan hopes that by providing this synthesized, up-to-date information, the world can make well-informed decisions.
