David Newell (Mr. McFeeley of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood) will be joining researchers Ian and Donna Mitroff for their talk on Fables and the Art of Leadership: Applying the Wisdom of MisterRogers to the Workplace. Mr. McFeeley will host an autograph session as well.

David Newell is a television actor known primarily for his portrayal of Mr. McFeely, the delivery man on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. His character's most famous catchphrase was "Speedy Delivery!" Newell began his acting career at a theatre school known as the Pittsburgh Playhouse. Through connections made there, he eventually met Fred Rogers. Newell was originally hired onto the show as a public relations manager, but Rogers also cast him in the role of Mr. McFeely. As a result, he and Rogers became lifelong friends until Rogers' death in 2003. (Wikipedia)

Dr. Ian Mitroff is a leading expert in the fields of crisis management and ethical workplaces, and Dr. Donna Mitroff spent her career in children's television, including a time working with Fred Rogers on his show. Fables and the Art of Leadership takes 7 of Mister Rogers fables from his long-running PBS show and analyzes them in the context of the workplace. King Friday (CEO), Lady Elaine Fairchild (childlike rebel) and the show's other characters fit into the various human parts of us all. One of the premises of this book is that leadership and compassion can be taught, and Mister Rogers's stories serve as an excellent blueprint for these lessons.
