Make Stories Happen at the Microsoft Lounge featured an exciting collaboration between Microsoft Surface and the upcoming new Netflix original series The Umbrella Academy. The partnership was born out of the similarities between superheroes and their unique talents from the show, and the NFL stars from the Make Believe Happen campaign with their own hidden talents and side hustles, and how technology helps bring those stories to life.
Starting with a quick look at the upcoming show, followed by a live panel, moderated by Martellus Bennet, the discussion featured showrunner Steve Blackman and stars Tom Hopper and David Castañeda. NFL players Drew Brees and JuJu Smith-Schuster also joined and discussed topics including the art of storytelling in today’s tech-driven age and unveiling your own superpowers in real life. The cast members and NFL stars then participated in a fun interactive game titled ‘Behind the Umbrella’ showcasing their hidden talents to the attendees and livestreaming viewers at home.
The Make Stories Happen week-long activation space included a full professional video edit suite on Surface devices, a photo experience that inserted guests into The Umbrella Academy poster, and a hands-on look of Netflix on Windows 10.
