Michael Moore's searing, controversial Iraq War documentary certainly found a friendly crowd at Cannes in 2004, receiving a 20 minute standing ovation following its premiere and going on to become the first documentary in nearly 50 years to win the coveted Best Picture award. The resulting press helped the film become the highest grossing documentary of all-time, and while Moore may not be anywhere near as culturally relevant going on a decade later, Fahrenheit 9/11 saw the incendiary documentarian at the height of his powers. If nothing else, it also certainly got guys talking, no matter which side of the political spectrum they fell on.
