Spencer talks to the Maths superstar about how maths has helped to model the Coronavirus pandemic. In 2018, Hannah was involved with a BBC programme which used volunteers' smartphones to help track how people moved around the country.
This was then used to show how a flu pandemic might spread, and how handwashing would slow that spread and flatten the curve.

Here she talks about how those models are made, and also about how different methods of easing the lockdowns may affect the crucial R number.
