It's Morbin Time ... at least it was, this past weekend with the re-release of Morbius in theaters by Sony. In an attempt to capitalize on the It's Morbin Time meme, Sony re-released the movie to a lukewarm response amongst Morbin fans. According to Forbes, after re-releasing Morbius in just over 1,000 theaters this past weekend, the Morbius movie managed to suck $300,000 dollars more from morbin moviegoers, which breaks down to $289 dollars per theater. This re-release was obviously Sony's response to the litany of #Morbius memes circulating the Internet, with Jared Leto, Morbius himself, acknowledging the Morbius meme by producing a script entitled: Morbius 2: It's Morbin Time. Looks like it's no longer time for #ItsMorbinTime. Top Gun: Maverick rises with the sequel to the Tom Cruise film earning $86 million dollars in domestic ticket sales week 2 at the box office. This brings it up the rankings to the top-10 highest-grossing second weekends in domestic box office history. And finally, it seems Nintendo is setting up new movie production companies, according to a post on the Reset Era gaming forum. There's a post that highlighted a US copyright catalog listing for Illumination's Super Mario Bros. movie, with the database listing "Nintendo Studios LLC" and "M Brothers Productions LLC".
