At the time, the sphere caused a great media frenzy and came to be described by many as "alien technology." It all started in April 1974, when a family from the city of Jacksonville, Florida, found a strange spherical metallic object with an approximate weight of 20 pounds and dimensions somewhat smaller than those of a bowling ball.
