New 2020 Opel Corsa GS Line Introduce
At the same venue, only more than three decades later, Opel is showing what it calls an echo of the eighties: the same nameplate, Corsa, dressed in an outfit to match its illustrious predecessor.

Opel revealed the fifth generation of the Corsa in July 2019 and plans to keep it at the top of the sales charts in its segment offering a host of innovative upgrades, a new – and for the first time – electric powertrain, and now a revival in the range of these three historical letters.

Just as the original GSi was a revolution at its time (100 hp packed into a body weighing only 800 kg), this one here too hopes to leave its mark on the road.

The same 1.2-liter engine that is offered on the regular 2020 Corsa is used in the GSi Line, only tweaked into developing 130 hp, the most of any units available at the moment in the lineup. With this powertrain on, the car can accelerate to 100 kph in 8.7 seconds and keep on going until the needle freezes at 208 kph (129 mph).

Visually, the GSi stands out in the Corsa range thanks to its chili-red paint, black roof and the sport seats fitted on the inside.

The new Opel Corsa GSi line is already available for sale, and it retails in Germany from €19,880. That’s well above the starting price for the rest of the Corsa range, which is €13,990.

Even so, Opel seems to be confident the new GSi will top the success of the original, which sold in about five years some 10,000 units.
