New 2020 Rolls Royce Cullinan Luxury SUV - Black Badge Edition https://youtu.be/dtd4EbZZWdI
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan was an instant hit when it first came out in 2016. It’s the combination of luxury, performance, and practicality that made it such a hit. Other niche manufacturers such as Lamborghini have even come out with their version of an SUV. Further enforcing the fact that people are flocking to SUVs. Rolls-Royce understands this and made the wise decision to add the Cullinan to their bespoke Black Badge lineup which aims at a younger more vibrant clientele who desire a sportier more dynamic experience.
Black Badge Changes
From an exterior styling perspective, the Cullinan gets all-new 22-inch wheels, the brand’s first-ever colored brake calipers, finished in a high gloss red and a dark front grille. All of these changes are reserved exclusively for the Black Badge edition. It’s incredible to see the aggressive side of the Cullinan come out with these little yet impactful design changes.
On the interior, the designers decided to place an incredibly unique carbon-fiber finish developed to create repeating geometrical shapes in a three-dimensional effect into the dash. To achieve this new look, each panel is finished with six coats of lacquer before being left to cure for 72 hours then hand-polished to Rolls-Royce’s hallmark mirror finish.
Like all Black Badge models, the Cullinan is engineered with additional power. Generating an extra 29hp for a total of 600hp and an additional 37 ft-lb for a total 664 ft-lb of torque. However, the tricks don’t stop there. If you press the ‘Low’ button on the gear shift lever, the Cullinan Black Badge comes to life, creating a deeper exhaust note of the 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12.
From a handling standpoint, both front and rear steered axles work collaboratively to adjust the levels of engagement depending on throttle and steering inputs. Changes to suspension components and settings add to the suite of powerful technologies that ensure a dynamic yet refined ride.
The Cullinan was already an SUV with a big personality, winning races both on and off the road with a 0-60 time of around 4.9 seconds. However, the Black Badge will stand above them all as the pinnacle of performance and dynamic luxury.
