New 2020 Skoda Scala Introduce https://youtu.be/dy1y7xC-fbI
Those unfamiliar with Skoda’s naming scheme could think that the new Scala Monte Carlo is a hot hatch. However, despite paying tribute to the company’s rallying history, it’s not. Still, it does stand out visually thanks to its sporty makeover.
Contrasting the red paint are the glossy black elements found on the redesigned front apron, grille, side steps, window surrounds, side mirror caps, rear diffuser and roof-mounted spoiler. The ‘Scala’ lettering on the tailgate and standard 17-inch or optional 18-inch alloy wheels also sport black accents.
The interior design of the Scala Monte Carlo boasts some red details, a perforated leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, gear selector and handbrake lever, black roof lining, LED ambient lighting, chrome look for the air vents, ‘Scala’ lettering on the door sills and special floor mats. The tinted windows and panoramic roof are also part of the offering.
“With the new Monte Carlo version, we are putting even greater emphasis on the Skoda Scala’s sporty and dynamic character”, said Skoda’s chief of design, Oliver Stefani. “The black Monte Carlo features, large alloy wheels and the storied name establish a link with our successful rally vehicles and are even more specifically designed for a younger target audience, which appreciates sportiness and an emotive, lifestyle-focused design.”
Like the rest of the Scala lineup, the new Monte Carlo will also become available with a complete range of engines. Deliveries will kick off in the fourth quarter of the year, subsequent to the model’s premiere that’s set to take place at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, next week.
Skoda will also present the Kamiq Monte Carlo at the same event, alongside other possible premieres.
