One of Audi's most orthodox models has been completely reimagined for a new generation, but this new A6 Avant isn't electric as you might have been previously told, rather a direct petrol, diesel and eventually plug-in hybrid powered executive estate of the traditional kind.
This new model will sit alongside the all-electric A6 E-Tron Avant of the same name but is completely different under the skin. And just by looking at it, different above the skin, too. That doesn't mean it's not a striking offering, though, as Audi's designers have given it a style-over-substance look that's especially sleek compared to the boxier E-Tron.
Under the bonnet, you'll find a pair of four-cylinders in diesel and petrol forms, plus a V6 that we won't be getting in the UK. We will, however, be picking up all the other new-generation plug-in hybrid powertrains which won't just supply the more efficient models, but the high-powered S and RS models too.
But what's this thing like in the flesh? We take a look around this dramatic-looking estate, which might just have already won us over...
