Say hello to the Geely EX2, or the Geome Xingyuan as it’s known in China, where well over half a million were sold last year alone, which made this small and rather smart-looking EV the biggest-selling car in China. And now Auto Express can confirm the all-electric hatchback is coming to the UK to take on the Renault 5 and BYD Dolphin.

In its home market, the EX2 starts from the equivalent of just over £7,000, which might explain why it’s so incredibly popular. Needless to say, it won’t be that cheap in the UK, but we expect prices to start from somewhere in the region of £20,000 and should offer over 200 miles of range.

The Geely EX2 isn’t due to arrive in the UK until the summer of 2026, so we sent our news reporter Ellis Hyde over to China to find out more…
