The MGS5 EV is the brand's new all-electric b-segment SUV. This time, it's not a retro-fitted ICE-based model, but it is something designed to be electric in the first place.
This has plenty of benefits, not least class-leading rear seat space, a big boot and excellent visibility up front, but it also means this rear-wheel driven model is pretty spritely in the corners – not something that's common in this class.
However, the MGS5 EV doesn't quite offer the same excellent value as some rivals at the lower end, and at the higher end, it has to deal with impressive newcomers like the Kia EV3 and Skoda Elroq. MGs have typically been known best for bringing the cost of electric motoring down, but this isn't so with the new MGS5.
The question is, does it still have a place in this new and much tougher environment?
Stick around and let Senior Staff Writer Jordan Katsianis tell you all about it.
