Meet the updated Porsche 911!

Porsche has unveiled an updated version of its class-leading sports car, but this is no ordinary facelift. For the first time ever, the 911 has gone hybrid!

So apart from the changes under the skin, let’s see what else has been updated. Thankfully, not too much! Around the front, you’ll find a new set of LED matrix headlights, as well as an updated front bumper. Within it, you’ll find 5 vertical fins on each side, and these can open and close depending on whether the radiator needs cooling. There are new alloy wheel designs to choose from, and around the rear, you’ll find a tweaked light bar, as well as new vents behind the windscreen and a new rear bumper.

Step inside and there’s one notable change - the analogue rev counter has gone, with a fully digital driver display fitted instead. It looks pretty smart and comes with lots of different options, but it’s just not the same as a traditional rev counter! Otherwise, the interior is every bit as smart as you’d expect from a 911, with soft-touch materials throughout and a large infotainment screen on the dash.

When it comes to performance, only the new GTS comes as a hybrid. It’s now powered by a 3.6-litre flat-six with a single turbo, and this combines with the electric motor to produce 541hp and 610Nm of torque - that’s 61hp more than the previous GTS! Porsche claims it will be able to hit 60mph in just 3 seconds, and it also comes with a top speed of 194mph.

The new 911 range starts from £99,800. But if you’re looking to get your hands on the GTS, it will set you back at least £132,600! The question is, if you could, would you pay it? Or would you pick up a second-hand fully petrol-powered 911 instead? Let us know in the comments!
