In today's Daily Fix:
Sony has finally revealed a new PlayStation 5 slim model (although they don't use 'slim' in the name). The company will also sell an UltraHD Blu-ray drive add-on for those that want to play physical copies of games in the digital edition of the console. However, that makes the digital edition plus external BD drive more expensive than just buying the version with the disc drive. Also the new vertical stand is separate and will cost an extra $30. In other PlayStation news, the PS Plus games for October have leaked, and subscribers will be getting the excellent Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, and the not-so-excellent-but-better-now-after-some-patches Gotham Knights. If you're looking for something spooky to play on Halloween, Alien: Isolation and The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes are being added, as well. And finally, news broke late yesterday that Unity's CEO John Riccitiello is stepping down, effective immediately. This is likely due to the very negative response of Unity's proposed fee to be charged to some of their customers.
