Meet the new Volvo XC90!
Volvo’s 7-seater behemoth has been updated, and it has competitors like the Land Rover Discovery and Audi Q7 in its sights! But is it the smart choice? Let’s find out…
For starters, the exterior design hasn’t changed much compared to the old model. Although that’s not exactly a bad thing! Sure it’s pretty chunky, but what do you expect from a 7-seat SUV?! Either way, seeing a few more updates would have been nice.
Take a step inside, and it’s a similar story! You’ll find some new extra-comfortable seats up front, along with a few updates such as a wireless charging pad, but otherwise, it’s all pretty similar to the old XC90. There’s a large portrait infotainment screen on the dash, but to be honest, it’s all a bit old-fashioned now. At least the cabin is full of soft-touch, nice materials.
Under the bonnet, there’s not much to choose from, with all XC90s rolling up with a 2-litre 4-cylinder engine. The range-topper is the T8 plug-in hybrid we have here, with the engine combined with an electric motor to deliver 455hp.
Prices for the XC90 start from just north of £60,000… But is it worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
