It’s time for an incredible Porsche vs. Porsche drag race!
We’ve got Porsche’s 918 Spyder hypercar going up against a tuned Porsche 992 911 Turbo S!
So let’s see how the two compare. Starting with the 918 Spyder, it’s powered by a 4.6-litre naturally-aspirated V8 coupled with two electric motors. Combined, they can produce 887hp and 1,280Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic gearbox, and the car tips the scales at 1,674kg.
Alongside it we have the 911 Turbo S. It’s still equipped with the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six as the standard car, however, it’s had the ES Motor 750 package fitted to it. As a result, power output has increased from the stock 650hp and 800Nm to 888hp (1hp more than the 918!) and 1,000Nm! It sends this power to all four wheels via a PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it comes in slightly lighter than the 918, at 1,640kg.
The question is, while the 911 Turbo comes in at a total cost of around £210,000, the 918 Spyder is valued at around £1.4m! Will it prove its worth? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
