Meet the Rolls-Royce Spectre!

It’s Rolls-Royce’s first foray into the world of electric cars, and Mat’s about to find out if swapping a V12 for some electric motors was a smart move or not.

For starters, let’s check out the exterior. There’s no denying that this is one super large car, but it’s also been kept relatively simplistic - and we think that’s a good thing, given it helps pronounce the elegance of the car. Along the side, the true size of the car is revealed, and it stretches to 5.5 meters long! The traditional thick centre caps on the alloys are kept, and of course, there’s the hand-painted coachline that runs along the width of the car. Up front, there’s a huge 100% metal grille and a set of daytime running lights fitted above the headlights. It looks fantastic!

Step inside and the Spectre is just as luxurious as any other Rolls. Bar one stalk on the steering wheel, there are soft-touch, high-quality materials throughout the cabin. It’s the first Rolls-Royce to come with fully digital dials, and there’s a large infotainment screen that borrows BMW’s infotainment system. There are loads of physical buttons and dials in the cabin, and even though it’s a three-door, there’s more than enough room for passengers in the back.

The Spectre is fitted with a 102kWh battery pack with a claimed range of up to 329 miles. It also comes with two electric motors, which combine to produce 577hp. The car’s also mightily heavy, mind, tipping the scales at 2,890kg!!

The Spectre rolls up with a price tag starting at £330,000. It may be one of the most luxurious EVs on the planet, but can it compete with the V12 power of the Phantom or Wraith?! You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
