Sky: Children of the Light - Breaking a World Record | gamescom 2023

IGN’s Max Scoville is joined by Jenova Chen, CEO and creative director at thatgamecompany to discuss breaking a world record with cozy MMO, Sky: Children of the Light at gamescom 2023. We also get to see a teaser for the studio’s upcoming animated show: Sky: The Two Embers.

Last December, thatgamecompany hosted a concert where 4,000 people were able to squeeze onto one server. So, this year they’re raising the bar to 10,000 and going for the world record for ‘The Largest Audience in Any Concert in a Virtual World’. But that’s not all! thatgamecompany is going for a second world record for ‘The Most Players Emoting Together at the Same Time in a Video Game’.

Jenova Chen also talks about Sky: Children of Light’s concert, which stars Norwegian singer-songwriter, AURORA, and features that are on the way for its 1.0 update and launch on PC. Sky: Children of the Light is out on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android, and it's coming to PC.
