Copy variation can be a thing… I hope that is the case as this is the worst lens I have ever reviewed. I don't understand who this is for or what it is supposed to be. It's cheap for a long telephoto, but it is still expensive for any amateur. It's also longer than anyone needs for anything but the most niche types of photography. I normally LOVE what Sony does with lenses… but this is not it.
