Honestly the 2018 Tacoma TRD Pro grill worked fine without the garnish EXCEPT for when it was rainy or snowy, and the sensor got wet. Then it would stop working until everything dried off and got cleaned. Not a super big deal if you dont like the shiny-ness of the grill cover.
