Oscar season is in full swing, and the competition for the Best Picture prize may have to be called after The Imitation Game drops.

As far as Academy Award contenders go, you don’t get much more appealing fare than a thrilling biopic on Alan Turing, the mathematician who cracked the Nazis "Enigma" code by inventing an early version of the modern computer while hiding his sexual orientation. So not only did Turing help win WWII, he also made a bigger contribution to your iPad than Steve Jobs and was an early martyr for gay rights; and he’s played in The Imitation Game by everybody’s favorite British actor, Benedict Cumberbatch.

I sat down with Cumberbatch, director Morten Tyldum, and co-stars Matthew Goode and Allen Leech during the Toronto International Film Festival, where The Imitation Game won the People’s Choice Award (an early bellwether for the Oscars). Check out the video to see them discuss their virgin experiences with a computer; their worst job experiences; and their ability (or lack thereof) to solve puzzles.

The Imitation Game opens November 14th in the UK and November 28th in North America.
