Samsung just officially announced its Galaxy Gear smartwatch. It pretty much meets our expectations for what a smartwatch would be like, though it remains to be seen how future apps will change the device and how useful it will be in real-world applications. It does, however, promise that the Apple-Samsung war is far from over.
