The-New 2022 Nissan Qashqai SUV Introducing https://youtu.be/RFYJHQFZzJs
Nissan’s crucial new-generation Qashqai small SUV has been revealed, and will take the fight to the likes of the Mazda CX-30, Toyota C-HR and Kia Seltos with hybrid engines, new looks and a tech-focused equipment list.
Expected to land in Australian showrooms in early 2022 given timing for the global launch has not yet been revealed, the all-new Qashqai line-up will be powered by either a 1.3-litre mild-hybrid engine or Nissan’s e-Power powertrain – at least in European markets.
Nothing has been confirmed for local vehicles yet, but given Nissan Australia’s pledge to have a third of its sales be in full-electric and e-Power powertrains by 2022, the top-shelf Qashqai engine is likely to make its way Down Under.
Differentiating itself from Toyota’s parallel hybrid set-up, the Qashqai’s e-Power system makes use of a 1.5-litre petrol engine that is used to charge the battery, with the wheels driven exclusively by the electric motor.
This means the Qashqai e-Power can deliver the instantons torque of an all-electric vehicle, but without the need for lengthy recharge times as it could be refuelled at any service station.
