Volkswagen is hoping that its all-new Tiguan will pick right back up from where the first two generations left off by luring thousands of SUV customers to its showrooms. The all-new Tiguan doesn't seem quite so different from the outset, but there are a range of massive changes that make this quite an upgrade from the previous generation.
If you're a fleet or company buyer, the new Plug-in Hybrid model will save you lots thanks to a tiny C02 emissions figure, but the great news is that if you regularly keep the battery topped up, it'll save everyone a bundle on fuel, too, thanks to a useful 70-mile all-electric range.
Inside the Tiguan's also gone super high tech, with big glossy screens, a minimal button count and ambient lighting that help it feel much more posh inside. But the key Tiguan deliverables also haven't been messed with, thanks to plenty of space inside and a reliable, consistent driving experience.
The thing is, though, this is a tough class with rivals in all directions vying for this popular slice of the market. Is it worth your cash? Follow Tom Jervis as he walks us around the critical new Volkswagen Tiguan.
