Through the Skills for Life programme Volvo Southern Africa offers apprenticeships to students from underprivileged communities in South Africa. It is an extension of Volvo Southern Africa's commitment to Star for Life, where they sponsor HIV/Aids treatment and prevention programmes in South African high schools.The Volvo Truck Centre in Pinetown, west of Durban, have hired nine apprentices, who have been recruited through Star for Life schools and are now valued employees.
